I love creating textured art with a worn, vintage look. I’m back this morning with some fresh creations that I’ve made to use as the base of my art prints. I’ll be mating and framing a few this week and then adding to my store.

I’ve been feeling like the modern day female version of Picasso. Okay, no, I’m not worthy of that but I have created some very cool art that I plan to use in my creations with these as my base.

I’ve been a tad bit under the weather this weekend from (I think) a bug that my gorgeous little daughter caught somewhere. Nothing serious but definitely not the kind that makes you want to run a marathon.
I accomplished very little this weekend but loved this quote so much that I had to make it into something visionary. I have no clue where it came from but it’s one many of us can relate to.
I’m going to be offering a print in my store this week.

At last count when I did the 100 Random Facts last week as a challenge on Twitter with a girlfriend from down under, I had only read 17 of the 61 books on my bookshelf! Does it count that many are reference material and journals?! Who cares about reading them all! More importantly is all the great art you can come up with from a single shot!

So what’s on your bookshelf?!
Take a shot of your bookshelf and post it on the Kokabella Fan Page @ Facebook by July 20th. I’ll select the one I like best and turn it into a piece of art. Just think of all the fun things you can do with it; use it as your profile photo, make a greeting card or frame it and set it on your bookshelf! Now that’s pretty cool. Happy shooting!
Here’s some of the variations I’ve done for future use in my artwork…
The Riata here in Austin has this old Pepsi-Cola icebox sitting in the Pavilion. It’s rusty and tired. I can never drag myself away without taking more shots of it. There’s no rhyme or reason. It’s just the way it is.
One day I’ll find a use for it and edit as needed. For now, I’m happy to just have it with its variations sitting in my master files for a rainy day. :)

I had a little fun in one of the flower gardens in our community!

I’ve created several variations in Photoshop. I’ll be using this as a layer in some of my designs.

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
Artsy ideas flashed in my mind the moment I saw this chalkboard sign in a coffee house!
I’ve started working on it in Photoshop. You’re welcome to the high resolution version. Just click on it to download.

I’m just getting started! I’ll be using them as layers in some of my designs. Oh, the possibilities!

My girlfriend Carol in California sent a link to this absolutely amazing handcrafted jewelry just a short time ago. If these are not conversation pieces and show stoppers, I seriously don’t know what is!
The artist, Drayok, charges $27 for basic keys, $34 for medium keys and $47 for detailed ones. The work that must go into them alone makes them worth every pretty penny. Check out Drayok’s gallery.
