Kokabella.com: a little talk, a lot of visual by photographic design artist, Kokabella.

My week’s off to a bright and mystical start. It’s amazing what a perfectly smooth cup of coffee will do for a designer!

I ran a little contest at the last minute on this piece of art that I created early this morning. Since there wasn’t a winner, I will leave this open to comments for a bit and will randomly choose from someone who leaves a comment with a really interesting quote or phrase. Be sure to leave your email address (which remains private to all but me!).

My adventure in illustration and design continues. As you may have read in a recent post, I’m taking a little break from photography this month to work on some non-digital designs. I just couldn’t stay away so I created this piece to send out in the mail. Well, next thing I knew, I had 128 new textures created in Illustrator and Photoshop! So much for staying away from digital!
In addition to creating this for the Mail Art 365 challenge, I’ve also created it for the Creative Every Day 2012 challenge. I made several colors in the alpha background that I’ll add to my freebies page soon.
See you tomorrow with another challenge! Stay warm and cuddly. It’s chilly here in Florida!

My daughter turns three next month and as I write this, she’s sitting here playing a puzzle on my iPhone. We’re snuggled up in bed together keeping warm on this chilly Florida evening.
At this very moment, I’m taking in every single moment with Sophia. She is growing up so fast and right here, right now, I know this is a memory in the making that I’ll love forever. I created this piece of art for a greeting card but I’m going to print it on vintage card stock and send it out in the mail art challenge.
Here’s to wishing you all a warm and toasty night!

I took 30 seconds to dab some watercolors onto an index card {closest thing in reach at that very moment} added some water drops and a piece of word art after hearing Scotty McCreery’s video that’s playing below. Isn’t he a cutie patootie?! [Read more...]
I spent much of my twenties living in some of the most beautiful places where dreams are easy to visualize; Malibu, Paris, London, Manila, Vancouver, Perth {Australia} and a few other spots across the pond. So it’s not really #1 on my bucket list to set off and see the world at the moment. Instead, the number one item on my bucket list is to create with a paint brush and my hands.

If you know me even a little… or a lot, you know I’m a photographic design artist. I shoot photographs and turn them into thought-provoking, inspirational art. However, every fiber in my body yearns to have an easel, toss up a watercolor paper pad, take a brush and paint from my heart. I’ve started doing this a little, but sadly, my toddler puts me to shame without any effort on her part! {We made these popsicle stick flowers with cut out tissue, glued them on page and I enhanced them into a piece of art which is now part of our greeting card line!}.
How fun and liberating it shall be to paint my emotions. Just the very sound of that makes me happy! I wanted to a video with you all: “Child’s Play Workshop” with Alma Stoller on Vimeo. It’s fun and whimsical. It provokes so much fun and creativity…

I’m having a two-day sale at Office Divvy in Palm Coast today and tomorrow {December 8th and 9th}. Drop in and pick out some of my photographic art cards. They make a super gift! I have over 50 different pieces of art in my greeting card line now. They are perfect for moms, grandmas, relatives, employees, co-workers, teachers, teenagers and… yourself! I think I have all types of people covered with words of encouragement, gratitude, wisdom, humor, optimism, Christmas and other special moments. I’m currently working on a local Palm Coast beach art set. Drop by to preview them! They are so pretty!
Drop by and say hello between 9 am and 4 pm! I’d love to meet you!
Office Divvy is located at 389 Palm Coast Pkwy SW, Suite 4 in Palm Coast, Florida.

An art piece designed from a shot at the beach, inspired by the song below that was playing on the radio.
I’m debuting it at my two-day Christmas sale at Office Divvy that starts today. It will be available in my store this weekend.
This Must Be The Place {Naive Melody} Lyrics by Talking Heads
Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb – born with a weak heart
{So I} guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground
Head in the sky
It’s ok I know nothing’s wrong… nothing
Hi yo I got plenty of time
Hi yo you got light in your eyes
And you’re standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
Never for money
Always for love
Cover up say goodnight . . . say goodnight
Home is where I want to be
But I guess I’m already there
I come home she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can’t tell one from the other
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time Before we were born
If someone asks, this where I’ll be . . . where I’ll be
Hi yo We drift in and out
Hi yo sing into my mouth
Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I’m just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I’m dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head
Ah ooh
