Crazy Horse Bike

America’s Most Beautiful Bike

Mike Avila sent me some pictures of his custom built bike “Crazy Horse” so I could create a photographic art version of this amazing bike that he built by hand with Arlen Ness. View the full story and credits on BaggersMag.com.

You don’t have to row on your own

Don't Row Alone

“You don’t have to row on your own. A good friend will always be there to grab hold of the other ore.” – Kokabella

To my close friend, Rique for inspiring me today to create this beautiful piece of photographic art from a simple photograph. Some people are just forever connected. :-)

1894 Singer Sewing Machine

Today I’m stepping away from photographic art design to refinish this old Singer sewing machine that I acquired while living at the beach in Palm Coast.

According to its serial number which is listed on Singer’s website, it was manufactured in 1894. Originally, I thought it was originally manufactured in the 1900′s. Now I’m super thrilled to have found such a piece of history.

The black iron is beautiful as it is so I’m just refinishing the wood and applying a clear spray coat to the iron legs.

See you back soon with a photograph of the completed beauty!

By the way, to those of you who are thinking; “I wish I could do something like this!” YOU CAN! Just takes some prepping and cleaning, sanding, staining and a camera to take photos and show off your project! Go for it. If you don’t like how it turns out, just start over and try it again! I am addicted to this stuff!

{Now get get your butt to some estate sales, thrift stores and Craigslist! Then take a fun shopping trip to Lowe’s… ohhhh… I loooove Lowes!}

Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Refinished

I’ve just finished the stain on this gorgeous Singer sewing machine. It’s so beautiful. It needs a knob pulls on one of the front drawers but I am going to leave that for the buyer to do with as he or she pleases.

I wish I could keep this beauty but I have so many restoration projects to complete. I’ll need a five car garage for a workshop at the rate I’m going! I looooove DIY!

As of this morning, it’s available to purchase through my etsy store.

Love Me ‘Til My Heart Stops Photographic Art

004-Print-LoveMeTilMyHeartStops

This is an art piece I designed from a shot at the beach. It was inspired by a song that was playing on the radio while various thoughts ran through my head and my imagination ran wild. When’s the last time you let your imagination run wild? You should give it a whirl. It’s liberating.

A Little Visual Optimism

Is there anyone who can’t use a little visual optimism on a Friday morning?!

Here’s a pocketful of happiness to make your day cheerful and stir up some pleasant thoughts!

Please click on each photograph to view on Flickr. The artists/photographers here have more beautiful pieces to show.

Optimism

One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’ t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.

“Posh” Photographic Art

As you all know, I looooove taking a photograph and turning into something other than “a plain photograph!” I took a picture of these sexy pink and brown animal print shoes and added a dash of artsy texturizing to create a canvas-style piece of art. Then I added “Posh” and their contact info just for kicks. I’m ever so thankful for this geeky little piece of “wild imagination” that I was born with! :-)

This was my chosen art piece for the Creative Everyday 2012 Challenge. For the Mail Art 365 project, I think I’ll mail it off to a few countries!

P.S. Are these not the coolest colors?! This would be a great ad for a magazine. Talk about “pop!” It would certainly stand out!

From Birdhouse to Blossom Art

Now available in my Etsy Store: “Flowers of Achievement”

Seriously, anything can be photographed. I bought this little birdhouse way back in July of 2010 in a thrift store in Austin, Texas. One of the crafty little centers from one of the flowers is missing and it’s pretty scuffed up. That’s all the charm of it! I photographed it and then cleaned it up in Photoshop before blending and coloring like a maniac… more like an addict because I could not stop creating all these different variations!

Handpainted Flowers of Achievement

Watercolor Art Series by Sophia

I’ve always been inspired by watercolor art. I finally started to act on it late last year by taking a watercolor course. I love it! My little girl just turned three last month and she’s far surpassed my abilities at painting on paper though! I left it to her to create the painted art on index cards that we happened to have lying around. I added some added water drops and word art. Mission accomplished! We’re calling it a successful day! Here’s a couple that she & I did on index cards, then scanned them and added a little “oomph” in Photoshop! [Read more...]
