Designing behind closed doors… an idea!

It’s amazing how creative and inspired one can be when there are no distractions. I recently heard someone say; “Don’t let distractions rob you of your creativity.” Distractions? Oh, wait, would that be Twitter, the iPhone, Skype, t.v. and the chirping sound of incoming emails?! Of course it is… in my world anyway.
I woke up yesterday morning at 2:30 am and could not get the excitement of inspiration and creativity out of my mind. It was racing like a Thoroughbred right out of the gate! So, I jumped out of bed, started the coffee and worked on some new art designs for my greeting cards. It was quiet and peaceful.
Designing in the wee hours isn’t for everyone, but closing the door, turning everything off except for your creative thoughts and whatever you need to accomplish your work or hobby project IS one way to create without distraction. Enjoy your time of serenity!
Beautiful Morning

It’s 7 am on Saturday and I absolutely love my morning ritual of waking up to freshly brewed coffee, checking email, working on some new photos or a piece of art and listening to the birds singing out my window. It’s a perfect morning!
A Gift from Bella

Throughout my travels and moves from Malibu, California to Western Canada and back to Los Angeles, then Tennessee, I have packed and carried this piece of framed art with me all these years. It was given to me by one of the most incredible, unique and selfless women I know. I met Bella back in 2000 when I went looking for a riding instructor. She taught me to be better around horses and how to stand on my own two feet. After losing touch for a few years, we reconnected to find that we both had a baby girl and named each “Sophia.”
Nothing can replace a good friend and the memories created with them. Love you, Bella!
