Freezing Rain

Look what we woke up to! Thank goodness it isn’t colder to cause the roads to be iced over and dangerous, but we are expected to get worse weather later today. I have a doctor’s appointment, the final one before the baby is due so I hope the roads stay clear until tonight!

Icy Day – Great For Staying Inside & Being Geeky

Welcome Mr. Winter! We all awoke to freezing rain and ice this morning. Poor Travis. He’ll be freezing in his boots when he gets home! Thank goodness I am here to keep him warm and toasty! :-)

I finished packing up all the gifts that are being mailed out and made this little desktop calendar from a photo this past summer at 7F Lodge Bed & Breakfast which was so awesome. So here’s Travis on my desktop… I can never get enough of my husband! (Like Martha would say; “And that’s a good thing!” Ha ha!).

Don’t Miss Something So Small…

One morning I happened to look out and notice these beautiful flowers that had bloomed sometime in the last week or so and I hadn’t even taken a moment to enjoy or notice them until now. People do that to one another. Start noticing those little things around you. It could make someone’s day; human or animal!

Wildflowers Everywhere!

New baby birds

Welcome to the world, little birdie! I’m not sure if he/she was born today or yesterday, but what a surprise it was when I woke up this morning! I looked out my bedroom window and there was a new life!

There’s a funny story leading to the birth of this little bird! It all started when a red-headed bird (possibly a sparrow?) built the nest and lived here for a couple of months. Then one day, he was gone and this Dove showed up! Okay wait a minute, I DO realize it’s more like a pigeon, but it just feels more pleasant to imagine a Dove living in my backyard! Nothing wrong with living in a little fantasy land of my own! ;-)

Anyway, next thing you know, there were 2 eggs, then one hatched! I’ll be watching for the other egg to “pop!” It’s just the coolest thing to watch.

Meet Madame Dove

Meet the bird living right outside my bedroom window! She’s there a lot and no longer afraid when I get close to her. It’s the neatest thing to look out and see her each day! I love nature.
