My week’s off to a bright and mystical start. It’s amazing what a perfectly smooth cup of coffee will do for a designer!

Title: “New life, new beginning.”
This was such an easy photograph to create from. New life, new beginning. Simple as that. We may not be new to the world in the birth sense, but it is never to late to change your mind, change the way you see the world and make a new beginning.

I ran a little contest at the last minute on this piece of art that I created early this morning. Since there wasn’t a winner, I will leave this open to comments for a bit and will randomly choose from someone who leaves a comment with a really interesting quote or phrase. Be sure to leave your email address (which remains private to all but me!).

As you all know, I looooove taking a photograph and turning into something other than “a plain photograph!” I took a picture of these sexy pink and brown animal print shoes and added a dash of artsy texturizing to create a canvas-style piece of art. Then I added “Posh” and their contact info just for kicks. I’m ever so thankful for this geeky little piece of “wild imagination” that I was born with! :-)
This is my chosen art piece for the Creative Everyday 2012 Challenge. For the Mail Art 365 project, I think I’ll mail it off to a few countries!
P.S. Are these not the coolest colors?! This would be a great ad for a magazine. Talk about “pop!” It would certainly stand out!
Yup, I am like a total junkie today with all the vintage postcard designs today. After an all-nighter of my mini-me not feeling so hot and a little chilly outside this morning, we lounged around, napped and created things. She colored, I designed. Win-win.
I’m off and running with the two challenges I’m hell bent and determined to complete this entire year! This is today’s creation for Creative Every Day 2012 and off it goes with the mailman for Mail Art 365! I hope the people receiving it like PINK!
Created from an old book page, textures and magazine tear outs to express my current thoughts on which way to go in my creative life. I’ve got my greeting card biz buzzing along online but I am so fond of creating photographic design elements and vintage art. I have over 200 new designs completed already just since the new year. Although there’s so many directions to go, I am leaning towards a new online store rather than just use them in my own photographic art. Letting other people create their own artsy photographic art sounds really appealing to me right now.
This piece was inspired by the Mail Art 365 and Creative Every Day 2012 challenges that I’m happily involved with! Sending this one out in the mail today!

My adventure in illustration and design continues. As you may have read in a recent post, I’m taking a little break from photography this month to work on some non-digital designs. I just couldn’t stay away so I created this piece to send out in the mail. Well, next thing I knew, I had 128 new textures created in Illustrator and Photoshop! So much for staying away from digital!
In addition to creating this for the Mail Art 365 challenge, I’ve also created it for the Creative Every Day 2012 challenge. I made several colors in the alpha background that I’ll add to my freebies page soon.
See you tomorrow with another challenge! Stay warm and cuddly. It’s chilly here in Florida!

My daughter turns three next month and as I write this, she’s sitting here playing a puzzle on my iPhone. We’re snuggled up in bed together keeping warm on this chilly Florida evening.
At this very moment, I’m taking in every single moment with Sophia. She is growing up so fast and right here, right now, I know this is a memory in the making that I’ll love forever. I created this piece of art for a greeting card but I’m going to print it on vintage card stock and send it out in the mail art challenge.
Here’s to wishing you all a warm and toasty night!
