“Passionate Past” Artwork Needs Quote

Hey everyone. Okay, so I’ve just completed a new piece of art that will soon be added to my greeting cards & prints collection AND I’m giving away a copy.

My daughter, the artist

At 13 months of age, my daughter has a knack for art! Give a girl some paint and paper and watch Picasso smile down from the heavens! How sweet is this?! ;-) It’s so gorgeous, I think I will have it printed on canvas! Ohhh, my little Sophia! (I’m not too proud!).

For the Love of Art

I absolutely love art. Lately, I have been finding myself to have an appreciation for art on canvas. There’s so much out there to enjoy and finding it is half the fun. The other half is in finding a muse or a source of inspiration to design my own.

Simon Howden did a fabulous job with this oil on canvas piece. Love, love, love it!

In the coming weeks, I will be blogging on my favorite art pieces and featuring some that I can see on my walls very soon!

Watercolor Art Series 1

watercolorseries01

A beautiful 5 x 7 photo art card series based on a watercolor design of mine. Four card set includes envelopes and comes wrapped in a coordinating ribbon for a lovely presentation. Makes a thoughtful and memorable gift, too.

Label Design

Bottle label design

Designed with Adobe Illustrator. I opted for bright colors. Included on the back of the bottle is the bar code, ingredients and supplier information. A fun project to design.

Memory Frame Necklaces Are Done!

I just finished off the memory frame necklaces I designed and created for my mom-n-law and her stepdaughter. They are wrapped and ready to head to Texas for Christmas. I started making these when my husband went away for his work and I desperately needed something to take my mind off of it. I started by designing the image for the frame and then added charms and beads that matched. I had some help from my neighbor on making the clasp closures. I wore one of them to a function recently and had a lot of inquiries and interest so I think I may start making them for people.

No Focus on Love Art Piece

I just finished this piece for art class here at Santa Monica College. The objective was to design to a specific size with a specific number of colors, shapes and fonts. The shapes were not allowed to touch one another. There could not be any focus that the eye would be drawn to, yet there had to be a theme of the words used. The final submission had to be hand drawn and colored. I designed this in Adobe InDesign CS2 and traced it onto art paper using ad markers and a fine tip black marker.
