Contest: What’s On Your Bookshelf?

At last count when I did the 100 Random Facts last week as a challenge on Twitter with a girlfriend from down under, I had only read 17 of the 61 books on my bookshelf! Does it count that many are reference material and journals?! Who cares about reading them all! More importantly is all the great art you can come up with from a single shot!

So what’s on your bookshelf?!

Take a shot of your bookshelf and post it on the Kokabella Fan Page @ Facebook by July 20th. I’ll select the one I like best and turn it into a piece of art. Just think of all the fun things you can do with it; use it as your profile photo, make a greeting card or frame it and set it on your bookshelf! Now that’s pretty cool. Happy shooting!

Here’s some of the variations I’ve done for future use in my artwork…

Vintage Shopping

We took a little drive to my favorite vintage/second-hand store today in Clarksville, TN. It was really relaxing to wander through ‘The Old Place’. There are at least 100 sellers who rent space there. it’s two stories of collectibles, antiques and yes, some junk!

A Bible from the 1940′s, Of Mice and Men and a few other tattered old books barely held together anymore by their cover was what we came home with this weekend.

I like to use pages out of old books to make art cards. It looks neat and people enjoy buying a card that is original and has character.
