Vintage Magazine Insert Freebie

So what happens at 3:45 am when I can’t sleep because the ocean’s waves are crashing loudly or I get the urge to make coffee at insane hours of the morning?! I do some blog reading or, like this morning, dig out old, vintage magazines and flip through them to kick start my creative mojo!

As it so happens, I came across this old insert which lacked vibrancy and “oomph!” Nothing a little color couldn’t fix!

ObsidianDawn.com is the most fabulous little place for free brushes, shapes, tutorials and a few stock images; all with the tiniest commercial use attribution requirements. fantastic digital designer who provides free CU friendly Photoshop brushes, patterns and tutorials. If attribution isn’t your wish, you can buy a commercial license so you can use her goodies without having to give her credit. She charges peanuts for that! It’s definitely an awesome place for design freebies.

Free Presets for Adobe Lightroom

There are so many awesome and free presets out there for Adobe Lightroom these days. If you’re new to Lightroom and not quite sure how to install them, worry not, dear one. Hop on over to LightroomKillerTips.com and learn how right now! Then go grab these…

There are a few so far on Adobe Exchange.

Kim Long has some great presets up for grabs. At the time I am writing this, she is offering That 70’s Set which will give you some pretty cool effects to your photos like they came right out of the 70’s!

X-equals.com has an excellent tonal preset and others on their website.

The Daido Moriyama preset works pretty well with grainy, high iso shots.

Mike Wong at onOne Software has some nice Lightroom presets to give away. Here’s the whole story from his blog: “Last week we announced the immediate availability of 85 presets for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom that we’re calling PhotoPresets with One-Click Wow! that everybody can download for free. (Scroll to bottom of the download page for the free presets).
