I Love You This Big Watercolor & Video

I took 30 seconds to dab some watercolors onto an index card {closest thing in reach at that very moment} added some water drops and a piece of word art after hearing Scotty McCreery’s video that’s playing below. Isn’t he a cutie patootie?! [Read more...]

Love Me ‘Til My Heart Stops

An art piece designed from a shot at the beach, inspired by the song below that was playing on the radio.

I’m debuting it at my two-day Christmas sale at Office Divvy that starts today. It will be available in my store this weekend.

This Must Be The Place {Naive Melody} Lyrics by Talking Heads

Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb – born with a weak heart
{So I} guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground
Head in the sky
It’s ok I know nothing’s wrong… nothing

Hi yo I got plenty of time
Hi yo you got light in your eyes
And you’re standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
Never for money
Always for love
Cover up say goodnight . . . say goodnight

Home is where I want to be
But I guess I’m already there
I come home she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can’t tell one from the other
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time Before we were born
If someone asks, this where I’ll be . . . where I’ll be

Hi yo We drift in and out
Hi yo sing into my mouth
Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I’m just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I’m dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head
Ah ooh

Day Nineteen: 31 Days of Props

It’s overcast here in Palm Coast this morning. The weather sometimes dominates my creative mood so for today’s 31 Days of Props challenge, I’ve created a canvas style piece of art from a photograph of the beach. The words just came to mind while I was creating this piece. It’s sad if you don’t have someone that you’d like to say this to… and amazing if you do. I hope he or she hears you when you tell them.

First year of being a mom

Today my precious little girl turned one. I fell in love with my special  little package of perfection all over again. It’s been a very special day that I feel so fortunate to share with our good friends and my father. How fast they do grow. I cherish every moment. It’s a blast to have each day to see her grow into her own little self. She has so much sweetness inside of her and a very big pocketful of personality! (We know where she got that!).

True friends warm hearts

Every time I spend time with my precious girlfriend Natalie, I am reminded of what a true friend is. She’s so genuinely sweet and caring. I just want to wrap her up and ship all of her goodness to people who could learn so much from her! What a gem.

I blogged about Natalie a month or two ago and posted her song which melts my heart every time I hear it. She wrote it for her husband, Jeremy whose every bit as sweet as she is! They make the sweetest couple! I envy them for the support they give to one another and all the fun they have together. It’s intoxicating to be around them so I really need to make a date with them and soon!

Love, love, love them!

February 2009 – The Love Month

I love the month of February aside from the cold weather. It’s the love month for three reasons this month.

  1. My 1st anniversary is tomorrow. Where did the time go?! A year already?!
  2. I am due to give birth to our little girl on the 4th. I’m so ready!!!
  3. Valentine’s Day is coming up! I luuuuv this day!

Also, my baby shower is this afternoon which I am really excited about! I have so much to be thankful for!

So enjoy this month and whatever it brings you. Don’t forget the V’s Day cards and little love notes!

No Focus on Love Art Piece

I just finished this piece for art class here at Santa Monica College. The objective was to design to a specific size with a specific number of colors, shapes and fonts. The shapes were not allowed to touch one another. There could not be any focus that the eye would be drawn to, yet there had to be a theme of the words used. The final submission had to be hand drawn and colored. I designed this in Adobe InDesign CS2 and traced it onto art paper using ad markers and a fine tip black marker.
