I’m so over-the-top thrilled with how this $5 thrift shoppe find has turned out after sanding and painting it all “shabby chic!” It’s so much nicer than any industrial metal card rack. My cards are going to look absolutely fabulous displayed on it! Next step is adding my cards to it and displaying at a local retail store. It’s currently sitting upside down in this picture because I just finished painting it. Watch for more photos with my cards on it coming soon!

I just set up this little area with the refinished chair, antique sewing machine and the outdoor wrought iron end table that I painted and did a tea stain on. I didn’t really know how Travis would feel about it when he got home, but he’s home now and he was sweet as ever about it! He just goes with the flow. My dad says he has the patience of a saint! Ha ha! I know exactly what he means by that!!! He doesn’t know how Travis would put up with me if it weren’t for being so easy going! ;-)

Believe it or not, this is a little desk. I picked it up from a friend who tried to refinish it in white but ran out of time and energy! Babies will do that. So I think I will sand it down and paint it in the off white with a tea stain. It may take me a bit to get going on this one! There’s a fair amount of work involved on this baby!

Look what I picked up today for $10. It’s a lady’s sewing chair. It’s really cute. I think I might paint it a worn out dusty rose color and find some matching pillows for it. I can’t wait to get going on this one! It’ll be “oh so shabby chic!”

What a blast a girlfriend of mine and I had today! We ventured out to the Goodwill/Salvation Army stores for kicks! We stumbled across this couch which was just so eye catching; in L.A., I could sell this thing for a nice chunk of change! Shabby chic is the thing there as with many places… but here!

So here it was with a $5.00 tag on it. I was going home with this couch one way or the other! I took a photo of it on my cell phone and zapped it off to my husband. He thought it looked okay. So when I went to buy it, I find out it’s actually half price day on furniture! So home I came with a seven-foot floral couch from the um, 70′s?! 60′s?! When Travis got home, he didn’t quite get that “I love the couch” feelings! He thought the couch looked way different on the cell phone. He’s so easy going. He couldn’t care less what I do with anything in the house as long as he can eat, sleep and watch his Dallas Cowboys during football season! We moved my poor, beloved shabby chic couch into our garage for now. I want to keep it until we move back to Texas. It’s perfect for our house just two blocks from the beach! Travis, well, he’s thinking it’s going to be a loooong time looking at that couch in the garage until that time comes! His mom likes it, too… I think?! So atleast one other person sees the beauty in it! Well, maybe I will sell it. It sure is comfy and extremely well built. Oh, silly me and the thrift shoppes.
